Owned by Lord Edward Manners, owner of nearby Haddon Hall, the hotel has been refurbished throughout and styled by award winning designer India Mahdavi.
Our 14 comfortable en suite bedrooms and one suite are luxuriously furnished with antique furniture, crisp white sheets and the finest fabrics sourced from London, Paris, New York and Milan. We are an Inspector's Choice 3 red star hotel.
Dan Smith, Head Chef, worked with Tom Aikens in London and has since returned to Derbyshire. He has prepared and designed tantalising menus for our restaurant and bar, using, wherever possible, locally sourced ingredients. We have been awarded 3 rosettes for food by the AA.

My room had a fine set of antique drawers, a delicate curved wood writing desk, tasteful tartan armchairs, and a re-upholstered 19th century chair. But there was also a feeling of simplicity in the plain lilac walls, sisal matt floor and dark wood headboard. Nothing was cluttered.
